Shawn was a very special person. He was truly one of a kind and he touched many lives. Shawn was larger than life which makes him a difficult person to "sum up" or explain. But who he was is so much more than simply how he left this world. I could no more tell him how to live his life than he could tell me how to live mine. Life is a series of choices. He made a choice and I have to deal with it. The thing I get to choose is how I deal with it. While Shawn often turned towards literature and poetry for solace and expression I turn toward music. Because I want to remember him for more than just his death, and because I love him immensely and want him to be free and at peace, I would like to dedicate this song to him.
