Moving Day!!!

Shawn was moving from an apartment on Hayes Road to an apartment on Rockefeller Court. Shawn had a really cool but very large fish tank in his bedroom. He had removed the fish, the larger rocks, etc. and about half of the water from the tank so it would be easier to move. He asked me to siphon the rest of the water out of the tank while he and some other people loaded the moving van. I happily obliged and set to work. The water that was left in the tank was pretty murky due to the fact that when Shawn removed the rocks and other items from the tank it stirred up junk from the bottom. I didn't think anything of it and went about my task. When there were only a couple inches of water left in the bottom of the tank I noticed some weird swirling movement in the back left corner. I took the end of the tube I was using to siphon the water and poked it into the general area. Suddenly a very large and very slimy fish jumped out of the water and slapped into my hand. I screamed and Shawn came running. I told him what happened and he started laughing at me! He pulled the tube out of the water to stop it from siphoning. Then he stuck his hand in the water and felt around a bit. When he brought his hand out of the water there was an 8 or 9 inch long sucker fish in it - you know, the kind that cleans the algae off the sides of the tank!!! I about croaked. He told me he said "Oh, I must have forgotten that one when I took the other fish out of the tank." I was like "Oh, you think so?" Right about that time we heard another scream from the kitchen. Shawn put the fish back into the water and we went to investigate. My mom was in the process of cleaning out Shawn's fridge and freezer when she came across an odd shaped bag. She opened it to discover Albert (Shawn's pet rat) sealed inside a ziplock baggie. (Hence the scream.) Shawn started laughing at her just like he'd laughed at me. He then explained that because the ground was frozen when Albert "bit the big one" he couldn't bury him (and for whatever reason he didn't feel comfortable throwing him away, and it's not like you can flush a rat down the toilet like you can a fish). So he wrapped him up and put him in the freezer with the intention of burying him in the spring - except that he forgot that Albert was in there (oops!). My mom and I looked at Shawn like he was crazy. He just looked at us and said "What?" Later he thanked us for providing some "fairly decent entertainment" on his moving day.
